Hello!

My favorite part of the changing seasons is having chances to redefine and rediscover myself and what matters to me. Each season naturally provides gifts and opportunities, and I’m personally a big fan of finding time every few months to check in with myself, my life, and my habits. I find it easier to do this because when I consistently check in, I get to make tweaks instead of overwhelming, massive changes.

What do I want for the new few months? What Intention do I need to set for the coming season? For example, summer is a great time to have adventures and explore the outdoors and lounge. Winter is a great time to take it easy and find healing, to turn our focus inward. Fall is a great time to accept the beauty in change and learn to let go in faith that the right things will come back.

Spring is my favorite time to dedicate to the philosophy of rediscovery because nature is naturally supporting the idea of new growth, renewal, and rebirth. With all the flowers popping up, warmer weather, and everything (and usually everyone) shaking off the winter blues spring is truly a magical time.

In the spirit of the season, I ask that you take some time to sit down and check in with yourself. Especially if you’re a people pleaser. A huge part of my practice lately has been helping others learn to be themselves and live their own life for them. People pleasers get caught up in living their life for others and get lost along the way. You deserve to live your life for you, to create a world where you’re in harmony with yourself and the people around you.

Why is this important?

You don’t exist in this life of yours to be only what other people need. You may have been raised that way, and you might have fallen into that path, but at the end of the day- you exist to live your own life. You exist to be your unique self.

So, the next time you have a beautiful day in your area, try this simple exercise. Get yourself some water or other nourishing beverage, and find a spot outside. Feel the sun on your skin, the wind in your hair. Take a journal with you, but leave your phone inside. First, spend some time thinking about the past few months, your habits, and your routine. What, instinctively, actually works for you? What might you want to carry forward, and what do you know needs to change?

Most people are intuitive, they just don’t listen to it because they compare their intuitive needs to what they think they should be doing, and mostly what they think they should be doing for others. Again, you don’t exist in this world to only serve other people. Once you’ve identified what you know needs to change, and what’s still working for you, you get to look forward.

It’s time to redefine yourself for this season.

What do you want to accomplish? Who do you want to be? What do you want to start to heal? What do you want to plan for? What hobby do you want to rediscover or learn? Once you’ve identified what you want, create a plan to make it happen, and then comes the hard part. You actually have to make it happen. Believe in yourself, because you deserve nothing less. This is where you use your journal, to jot down your ideas, dreams, and plans. Putting things down on paper can make a difference, it helps solidify them in your mind.

Identify the changes you want and need, for you. It matters. This might mean setting more boundaries- do it. This might mean taking more time for yourself and giving less of your time away to other people- do it. Maybe it’ll mean tapping into some courage to do an awesome (but scary) thing you really want- do it.

Live your life for you. Take this time, right now, while you have it, to define who you want to be. What do you want out of your life? This season?

Only you can answer that question.

I’d love to hear how you plan to rediscover and redefine yourself, so please come back after you’ve done the exercise and let me know! When we share, we not only inspire ourselves, but others.

In Gratitude,

Robin

I know it can be hard to follow through on challenges you set for yourself. It takes, on average, twenty-one days to change a habit. A lot can happen in three weeks, including you beginning to doubt yourself, or allowing life to get in the way.

The Magic of New Year’s Intentions!

New Year’s is a magical and powerful time to set yourself up for success for the coming year by setting positive Intentions! The year can’t be what you want if you don’t know what you want. I highly recommend taking some time in the next few weeks to anchor into your needs, and set some positive, powerful Intentions for next year that you can return to whenever you need it, so that you can get more of the experience you want in 2023!
