Today I saw a sign that read, “Stay away from people that make you feel you are hard to love.”

How powerful is this statement? I kept thinking about it all day. In fact, I posted it on Instagram and Facebook and received a lot of feedback regarding it. It seemed to touch many people deeply in their Hearts.

Doesn’t this statement speak the truth though?

We are all human. We all have positives and negatives just like anything else in life. As friends, partners, husbands, wives, parents, and all of the other roles we play…

I just wanted to take a moment to connect with you and remind you the importance of focusing and expressing the positive about and to each other.

As we all know, sometimes our commitment to positive focus can be quite a challenge when someone is acting aggressively or pushing our many buttons.

When we notice we are being judgmental and critical, a small deep breath of acknowledgment about how we feel can really do the trick in making the difference in reminding us that we have a choice about how we react and respond in a moment. We can’t take a deep breath and stay focused on judgment and criticism. Did you know that? The second you start to breathe, the negative focus will start to lift and dissolve.

As you take your next deep breath, ask yourself, “What positive thing can I find and express to this person before me? “Although I want to criticize them, how can I instead find something to be grateful or positive about?”

It is said that every moment is designed to help support our healing and growth. Often times we are just too busy criticizing and judging to remember that the moment before us is given to us to offer healing. Maybe the person you are dealing with in the moment IS really annoying and negative. What a perfect opportunity to take a deep breath and give them a seed of positivity.

Everyone has intense histories and issues, and everyone is worthy of being loved and honored.

It is not up to us to criticize and judge. It is up to us to create healthy boundaries and spread seeds of positively and love. We are all truly doing the best we can do.

Some people may be harder to be loving and kind to than others. We all have those negative people in our lives. So what. Let’s not waste time focusing on the negative in them. Create healthy boundaries instead. Honor your limits. Perhaps these people are in our lives to help us strengthen our self-worth/healthy boundary muscles. Ask yourself this simple question, “What do I need to be able to stay in a loving space when dealing with this person?” Take responsibility for yourself and do your best to stay kind. It is easy to make up reasons why it’s okay to not be kind to another, when in truth, there is never a reason to be unkind. Be kind… and if you can’t be kind, just be quiet and breathe until you can be kind again.

Everyone in this world deserves to be honored and loved. Every single person in your world. It is much easier to be loving and kind to others when we remember to honor our own boundaries and limits. The more we honor our personal limits inside, the more we will be able to love and honor those around us.

The more love we create in our lives, the more fulfilled and loved we will feel.

Have the most incredible day!

Huge hugs,
Robin
